The Coalition

Eversight is the 501(c)3 nonprofit that serves as Illinois’ eye bank. We carry out the wishes of donors and their families who give the gift of sight through cornea and eye tissue donation, to provide sight-restoring transplants and benefit research into treatment and cures for blindness. Our mission is to restore sight and prevent blindness through the healing power of donation, transplantation and research.

Founded in Chicago in 1947, Eversight works closely with donor families and donation partners including Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, as well as Illinois surgeons, service organizations, health care and community partners, and a committed network of advocates to fulfill our mission.

Together, we provide for more than 8,000 sight-restoring transplants in Illinois and around the world every year.

Mid-America Transplant

The mission of Mid-America Transplant is to save lives through excellence in organ and tissue donation. As an organ and tissue recovery organization, our work happens at the intersection of life and death. We help donor families through moments of grief and loss, support transplant patients, and facilitate safe, reliable donations for transplant. Our approach is designed to save lives while supporting families, patients, and our community. Together with our partners, we are working toward a brighter future where organs and tissues are always available to those in need.

National Kidney Foundation of Illinois

The National Kidney Foundation of Illinois improves the health and well-being of people at risk for or affected by kidney disease through prevention, education, and empowerment.

The NKFI is a lifeline for all people affected by kidney disease. As pioneers of scientific research and innovation, the NKFI focuses on the whole patient through the lens of kidney health. Relentless in our work, we improve lives through action, education, and accelerating change.

Illinois Secretary of State

The mission of the Secretary of State Organ/Tissue Donor Program is to strengthen the Illinois Organ/Tissue Donor Registry through outreach and registration initiatives. Organ/tissue donors save lives, restore sight and improve the quality of life for recipients across Illinois every day. The Illinois Secretary of State’s office maintains Illinois’ official registry of those who wish to donate organs/tissue upon their death.

Transplant Life Illinois

The mission of Transplant Life Illinois is to celebrate the gift of life through competition and camaraderie, and to educate, empower and bring hope to all those affected by organ donation. Our advocates include transplant recipients (solid organ, tissue, bone marrow and cornea), living donor, and donor family members. We manage the official state team for the Donate Life Transplant Games of America.
